What is AED Program Management & Is It Required?

An AED is a valuable piece of equipment to have on hand.  AED's save close to 1700 people a year simply used by bystanders like yourself and I, not to mention those used in the healthcare facilities which improve survival rates up to 70%.  However, just mounting an AED to your wall and forgetting about it is not enough.  First you'll need to make sure everyone in your group is familiar with using the device and for that we recommend a basic CPR and First Aid Training class.  You can set one up with any provider or we offer them as well here.  The next step is to ensure your AED is tied to an AED Program Management service.  When you purchase and AED from us we include the AED Program Management at no cost to you.

The AED Program Management includes legal compliance checks, readiness checks, general maintenance and expiration reminders.  This is to make certain your AED is fully functional at all times and maintains state and federal requirements.  The program management takes over the timely routine tasks associated with maintenance so you can focus on other facets of your organization.  When it's time for maintenance, the AED management team will alert you.   Failure to properly manage your device puts you at risk for liability in the event the AED did not work when used.

AED Program Management Includes:

  1.       Email reminders of upcoming expiration dates for AED batteries and electrode pads
  2.       Automatic registration with your local 911 call center for added confidence in case of an event
  3.       Online tracking of CPR expiration dates and certification status of your trained responders
  4.       Online access to your policy & procedures manual
  5.       Automatic AED registration with your local Emergency Medical Services compliance
In the Event the AED is used, AED Program Management will:

  1.       A free loaner AED while the data on your AED is being downloaded and interpreted
  2.       A team of physicians to interpret the data to make sure the AED worked as expected
  3.       A full report of the physicians findings
  4.       Replacement of your AED pads
  5.       Free reporting to local agencies with data from the event
